Noor Garden

Sources & Method

Noor Garden never retypes religious text. The Quran text, word meanings and translation come from Quran.com, the recitation is by Mishary Rashid Alafasy, the Arabic explanation is Tafsir al-Muyassar, and every hadith is cited with its collection, number and grading.

Quran text and translation

The Arabic text of every surah is the standard Uthmani script, loaded from the Quran.com API (Quran Foundation). Word-by-word meanings and transliteration come from the same source. The English translation is Sahih International, also via Quran.com. We do not edit or retype any of these texts.

Recitation and timing

All recitation is by Sheikh Mishary Rashid Alafasy (Murattal), from the QuranicAudio collection. The word-by-word highlighting uses the per-word timings published by Quran.com (QDC) for this recitation.

The short spoken surah names you may hear in the app are made with a synthetic text-to-speech voice. They are only labels, never Quran recitation.

Arabic explanation

The Arabic explanation of each ayah is at-Tafsir al-Muyassar, prepared by a committee of scholars at the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran. It is short, clear and suitable for children with a parent's help.

Hadith

Every hadith on Noor Garden comes from one or more of the major collections: Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Jami' at-Tirmidhi and Sunan Abi Dawud. Each one is shown with its collection and number, and its grading is noted. Hadith from al-Bukhari and Muslim are sahih; for at-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud we note at-Tirmidhi's own grading and al-Albani's. Some long hadith are shortened to the part children need, and this is marked. Each text was checked against the text on sunnah.com.

Kids' lessons

The short lessons, stories, daily challenges and quizzes were written for children in simple words, based on the tafsir and the hadith texts above, and reviewed before publishing. They explain; they do not give rulings.
