What is Surah Al-'Adiyat about?

Surah Al-'Adiyat (The Courser) is surah number 100 of the Quran, a Makki surah of 11 ayat in Juz 30. It is number 16 in the Noor Garden memorization path for kids.

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

  1. 1

    وَٱلْعَـٰدِيَـٰتِ ضَبْحًۭا

    By the racers, panting,

  2. 2

    فَٱلْمُورِيَـٰتِ قَدْحًۭا

    And the producers of sparks [when] striking

  3. 3

    فَٱلْمُغِيرَٰتِ صُبْحًۭا

    And the chargers at dawn,

  4. 4

    فَأَثَرْنَ بِهِۦ نَقْعًۭا

    Stirring up thereby [clouds of] dust,

  5. 5

    فَوَسَطْنَ بِهِۦ جَمْعًا

    Arriving thereby in the center collectively,

  6. 6

    إِنَّ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ لِرَبِّهِۦ لَكَنُودٌۭ

    Indeed mankind, to his Lord, is ungrateful.

  7. 7

    وَإِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكَ لَشَهِيدٌۭ

    And indeed, he is to that a witness.

  8. 8

    وَإِنَّهُۥ لِحُبِّ ٱلْخَيْرِ لَشَدِيدٌ

    And indeed he is, in love of wealth, intense.

  9. 9

    ۞ أَفَلَا يَعْلَمُ إِذَا بُعْثِرَ مَا فِى ٱلْقُبُورِ

    But does he not know that when the contents of the graves are scattered

  10. 10

    وَحُصِّلَ مَا فِى ٱلصُّدُورِ

    And that within the breasts is obtained,

  11. 11

    إِنَّ رَبَّهُم بِهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لَّخَبِيرٌۢ

    Indeed, their Lord with them, that Day, is [fully] Aware.

How to memorize Surah Al-'Adiyat

  1. Listen: press “Start learning” and listen to Mishary Alafasy recite Surah Al-'Adiyat three times while following the Arabic text.
  2. Practice each ayah: in Practice mode every ayah repeats ×3, ×5 or ×7 with an echo pause, so your child says it back out loud.
  3. Learn it in parts: with 11 ayat, split it into 3 parts of 5 ayat and only move on when the current part is solid.
  4. Memorize levels: each level hides more words until your child can recite the whole surah from memory.
  5. Puzzles: put the words of each ayah back in order to check the memorization, then review it tomorrow before starting the next surah.
